About Primetel Health
Our journey to bridge the gap between communities and quality healthcare through innovation and compassion.
The Primetel Story
From humble beginnings to a movement transforming Tanzanian healthcare
Founded in the heart of Tanzania, Primetel was born from a simple but powerful realization: healthcare shouldn't be a privilege reserved for those who can access it, but a fundamental right for all.
Our journey began with a small team of healthcare professionals and community advocates who saw firsthand how traditional systems were failing the most vulnerable. From rural villages to urban neighborhoods, we witnessed the gaps in access, the cultural barriers, and the urgent need for solutions that truly meet people where they are.
What started as grassroots mental health outreach has grown into a comprehensive healthcare initiative serving thousands across Tanzania through clinics, mobile units, schools, and digital platforms.
Our Mission
To make quality, affordable, and culturally sensitive healthcare accessible to every Tanzanian — no matter where they live, who they are, or what they face. We bridge the gap between communities and the care they deserve through innovation, compassion, and relentless commitment.
Our Vision
A Tanzania where healthcare barriers are eliminated, where every individual can access care that is timely, respectful, and rooted in their reality. From remote bomas to bustling cities, from mobile phones to clinics, we envision a future where health equity is not an aspiration but a lived experience.
Milestone Timeline
Key moments in our evolution as a healthcare innovator
Foundation
The idea for Primetel was born when founder Emmanuel Samwel recognized the urgent need to bridge healthcare gaps in underserved communities.
Official Registration
Primetel was officially registered as a health enterprise and piloted the first version of its USSD application, pioneering a digital-first approach to healthcare delivery in Tanzania.
Structured Intervention
Primetel launched its first structured outreach programs, reaching thousands with primary care and mental health sensitization campaigns. In the same year, the organization recruited and trained a team of Community Health Workers (CHWs) to extend its reach into villages and households. Clearance from the regional health office further strengthened institutional credibility.
Medical Clinic License
Primetel achieved a major milestone with the issuance of its official medical clinic license, cementing its role as a fully integrated provider of primary care, mental health services, and telehealth access nationwide.
